Be Bright Campaign - November 2005The aim of the Be Bright campaign is to promote the message ‘fluorescent for day, reflective for night’ and to help children understand the importance of how to be seen when they are near traffic, especially when light conditions are poor.
The launch of the campaign coincides with the change of clocks in the UK; the days get darker earlier and therefore when children are heading home from school it is nearing twilight. Fluorescent and bright colours would make them more visible at this time yet the majority of school children wear dark coats and carry dark bags. If they are out after dark they need to be aware of the importance of wearing or carrying something reflective.
Our campaign activities include:
* Press Release and local radio interview. * Publication on this website of new educational materials and classroom activities to help improve understanding of and familiarity with fluorescent, reflective products * The launch of our BrightKidz autumn range; innovative, fun, fluorescent and reflective products such as our high vis book bag. * The launch of our Be Bright silicone multicolour fluorescent wristband. * The launch of our Be Bright teaching resource pack. * Competitions and paid-for advertising in selected parent-targeted magazines. |
